Kanagasaki
Located near the former site of the public lodging house Mizutoko, this cape overlooks Mizutoko Bay, known as the "Jewel of the South Seas. The erosion and weathering of waves over thousands of years has given the cape its unusual shape, and it is dotted with oddly shaped rocks named Zatoiwa, Kaburiwa, Tachinamiwa, Eboshiiwa, and others. There is also a monument nearby called Basho Mound, on which is engraved a haiku by Matsuo Basho, a haiku poet of the Edo period.
